Steve Vertigan
Producer/Engineer/Owner

With over 35 years in the music industry, Steve has worked full-time as a musician, recording engineer, producer, arranger, music director; and for the past 20 years, owner of Soggy Dog Recording.

He has worked with artists, including Grammy and ARIA award winners, in diverse musical genres.

Initially, as a full-time classical and later as a contemporary musician, Steve knows that listening attentively and thoroughly to each client is the key to a successful project. 


Steve also holds a current Police Check and a Working with Children Pass. 

Simon Hosford
Producer/guitarist

Simon Hossford - session guitarist

Simon has been Associate Musical Director on the productions Australia’s Got Talent and X-Factor, as well as being a member of the Australian Idol band. He has toured more than 48 countries with artists including Vanessa Amorosi, Taxiride, Jon Stevens, Shannon Noll, Birtles/Shorrock/Goble, Anthony Callea, and recorded for artists including Bachelor Girl, Peter Andre, Guy Sebastian, Ross Wilson, Christine Anu, and Anna-Maria LaSpina.

In addition, Simon has also performed with Kylie Minogue, Joan Jett, Chris Isaac, Rogue Traders, Darryl Braithwaite, Petula Clarke, Thelma Houston, Steven Cummings, Errol Brown (Hot Chocolate), and Renee Geyer to name just a few. 

Peter Maslen

Belinda Parsons

Belinda Parsons gained a Bachelor of Music Performance in Improvisation at the Victorian College of the Arts. Although many of Belinda's credits are in the theatre domain, she is equally at home on the jazz and rock stages. Belinda has exceptional knowledge and 'ear'  for harmony, producing anything from the very simple and expected to the most creative and complex backings in many diverse styles. Some of Belinda's credits include - The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber Tour to China, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber Live from the Great Hall of The People (DVD), Mack and Mabel (Production Company), HMS Pinafore, The Sound of Music, Crossroads (Workshop), Life's a Circus, Melbourne Cabaret Festival, A New Brain (Chapel off Chapel) and various other corporate events, concerts and television appearances.

Emilio Kormanic

Emilio tours with Australian music icon Tina Arena, Sony RnB artist Isaiah Firebrace (X-Factor/Eurovision), and a host of other prominent artists and bands. In addition, Emilio is the guitarist for the TV shows  ‘Dancing With The Stars’, ‘The Masked Singer’ and ‘Name That Tune’ (USA). 

Montana Sharp
Backing vocals

Even though she's the youngest and newest member of our team at Soggy Dog Recording, Montana Sharp has already performed backing vocals on songs that have hit the AMRAP charts. After completing a double degree in Arts/Music at Monash (with distinction) in 2019, Montana has been working as a live performer and session musician, featuring on many EPs and albums across multiple genres. Montana has a background as a classical pianist. Her understanding of theory, contemporary chord progressions, and layering of harmonies allow her to create unique textures and conventional voice leading.

Her raw and painfully honest songwriting has awarded her 'Best Original Song' in the Fast Track Singing Showcase (2014) and allowed her to perform at international venues in Europe and the US. Her songwriting and singing are getting her noticed by some of the biggest names in the industry.

Jason Vorherr
bass/guitars/vocals

Every time Daryl Braithwaite performs The Horses with a festival crowd, and that's almost every weekend, you can be sure that behind him is Jason Vorherr playing bass and singing backing vocals.  Jason Vorherr was the bass guitarist for the original line up of the Little River Band (BSG) featuring Glen Shorrock, Beeb Birtles and Graeham Goble, The Black Sorrows, Russell Morris, Daryl Braithwaite, Joe Camilleri, Kate Ceberano and many others. Jason has appeared numerous times on The Footy Show as a member of The Footy Show Band as well as many appearances on Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton.

Jason works at Soggy Dog Recording as a musical producer, arranger, guitarist, bass player and vocalist. 

Amber Ferraro
vocals

Amber Ferraro performs at sold-out shows throughout Australia, including The Nightcat in Fitzroy with her band 'Honey.' She has recently performed for eight thousand fans at two of Australia's most popular festivals; Golden Plains and Strawberry Fields. Amber graduated from Monash University with a music degree in improvisation. She records at Soggy Dog as a lead or backing vocalist.

Danny Spencer
guitar/vocals

Danny Spencer is a soulful rock and alternative guitarist who currently tours and performs with Jimmy Barnes. Danny, signed with BMG Sony, was a member of Rogue Traders and The Androids. The latter is his own alternative band. If you need truly soulful or serious rock guitars, Danny is one of the best around.

Jack Earle
Piano/keys/trumpet/vocals

Jack records and performs and is often the music director for Rhonda Burchmore, David Campbell, Rob Mills, Kate Ceberano, and Tina Arena. He has been the keyboardist in major theatre productions, such as Dream Lover, Evita, Kiss Of The Spider-Woman, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and West Side Story.

Jack's extensive composition credits include two albums of original music (The Jack Earle Big Band and Is This Real?), dance-theatre works, and numerous jingles for television and radio. 'Is this Real' was recorded here at Soggy Dog Recording.

Jack studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music (California) with a full-tuition scholarship. 

Anthony Barnhill
piano, keyboards, arranger, composer

Anthony is a leading Australian conductor, pianist, and composer. His international credits span concerts, theatre, television, and radio.

He is currently Musical Director of the 2024 national tour of Chicago. He was recently Musical Director for Opera Australia’s acclaimed production of The Phantom of the Opera, the best-selling show of all time at both the Sydney Opera House and Arts Centre Melbourne, for which he won the 2023 Green Room Award for Musical Direction of a commercial musical. Critics hailed that “nothing thrills more than the music, with conductor Anthony Barnhill on board to coax a commanding richness from the orchestra” [The Guardian].

Anthony has a long association with West Side Story. For the 2019 internation tour he conducted performances at renowned opera houses around the world, such as the Dresden and Berlin State Opera. His involvement with the show continued, music supervising the 2021 Perth and Brisbane seasons, and conducting performances of the 2024 Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour production.

Other musical theatre credits include Phantom of the Opera (Opera Australia), Evita (Opera Australia), Oklahoma! (The Production Company) and most recently, as AMD for the Australian production of Chicago (GFO).  He has been the pianist for Grammy-nominated RnB artist Mario, toured China as Musical Director for Australian International Productions, and served as Composer in Residence for Creative Innovation Global.

Not only can Anthony handle the most demanding keyboard music, he can also arrange for live strings. We're very fortunate that Anthony is part of our team here.
